If you want to shop in-stock jewelry in person, you can come to our NE Minneapolis studio.

We are open in-person shopping on an appointment basis for the time being. This ensures we are properly prepared for your visit and can give you our undivided attention; additionally we are able to control the occupancy of the space. If you would like to schedule an in-person shopping experience, please book an appointment.

Not comfortable shopping in-person? Our webshop is open 24/7 for your convenience!

While we were traditionally an in-person business, we have shifted to online sales (because that is what you do nowadays). Most everything available in our studio is also available online.

We have made to order options for many of our wedding bands. Pick your favorite style, metal, size, and finish; you get to modify all the details to fit your personal style!

We can also recreate other rings and jewelry pieces that are currently out of stock. Just contact us to inquire!

When you get a custom ring made we make everything to your design specifications. You pick the metal(s), stone(s), size, and finish.

The idea of having a custom design created seems daunting, but it isn’t. One of our skilled goldsmiths will help you on your journey to creating the perfect ring in 7 easy steps. You can read our 7 Simple Steps to Make Your Jewelry Dreams a Custom Reality blog for more details, but here's the general idea:

1) First we ask you complete our Dream Ring Questionnaire so we can get an idea of what you are looking to create.

2) Next you'll schedule your consultation with the boss lady herself, Emily. (So Fancy!!)

3) Meet with Emily to discuss your project and select your design elements.

4) During your consultation we'll calculate the cost of the project.

5) Make a deposit so we can order your elements.

6) Creation begins!! (We handle this step!)

7) Settle up your tab and get ready to sparkle!

Unofficial last step: Spread the sparkle!!

Yes and no. The cost of your custom piece is based on design time, material costs, sourcing efforts, and labor. We do require a sourcing fee if we need to find stones for you, but that fee will be applied to your final balance.

Please note, custom projects start at $2,000.

Custom orders take 6-8 weeks* once a final design is approved and a 50% deposit is received.

Why so long? Well, we need to source materials and hand make your perfect piece. Perfection takes time!

*During certain seasons, timelines may be extended. For example, our refinery has limited hours during the holiday season.

Our raw materials are sourced from a small pool of trusted suppliers we've met throughout the years. Many of our gemstones come from dealers we've met at gem shows around the US and our metals come from US based refineries. In 2021 we launched an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program to further vet our suppliers.

EC Design works in a variety of diamond, sapphire, and Moissanite options. Our favorite gems are rustic, rose cut diamonds and rose cut sapphires in all the colors of the rainbow. All of our gems are conflict-free and adhere to the Kimberly Process. Our small white diamonds are Canadian mined and many of our sapphires come from Montana. Recycled and lab-grown diamonds are also available.

All of the jewelry we make in our studio is handmade with 100% recycled metals, with the exception of the delicate chains that we purchase from trusted sources. We primarily source our metals from Hoover and Strong, a US based SCS certified green refinery.

Our favorite metals to work in are 14k rose/red/pink gold, 18k yellow gold, and 500 palladium.

We also work in 14k yellow gold, 14k green gold, 950 palladium, and platinum.

When people ask if we can design a ring with their stone(s), the answer is ‘sometimes’. We reset diamonds and sapphires that are 0.25ct/4mm or larger and in good condition. Although we take the utmost care while working with your gems, chipping and breakage can occur so gems are reset at your own risk*. Prior to committing to remounting stones in a new design, we must evaluate the size and quality of stones.

We do not reuse client metals. Depending on the quantity and quality, we may be able to offer a scrap credit that can be used toward an ECD purchase. We DO NOT buy precious metals.

In-Stock Jewelry

In-stock rings, necklaces, and earrings can be picked up at our NE Minneapolis studio once the order has been processed. If you opt for shipping, your new jewels will be shipped out within 5 business days of processing. If a ring needs to be resized, it will be ready for pick up or shipment 1-2 weeks after the order is processed.

Made to Order

Made to order rings take 4-6 weeks to complete, based on material needs.

Custom

Custom orders take a little longer. Since all of our jewelry is made by hand, one piece at a time, custom orders usually take about 6-8 weeks to complete after the deposit is received. Rush orders may be available, please contact us to inquire.

Most in-stock rings can be resized for a small fee. Band width and design may limit resizing options. Please contact us to inquire.

If a ring is damaged within the first year of purchase due to a manufacturing defect, ECD will cover repair costs. If damage is due to regular wear and tear, neglect, or it has been more than one year since purchase date, there will be a repair fee. It is recommended rings be brought in yearly for a professional cleaning and inspection to ensure stones remain secure, a service EC Design is happy to provide free of charge for all of our jewelry.

Regular priced, in-stock jewelry may be exchanged/returned for STUDIO CREDIT ONLY within 14 days of purchase. If you purchase from our website and have your order shipped, please contact EC Design within 3 days of receipt to request an exchange; shipments must be returned within 14 days of delivery. Once the merchandise has been received, a credit will be applied to your account.

EC Design, LLC does NOT offer cash back returns on in-stock items.

All custom jewelry, made to order jewelry, modified/resized jewelry, and sale jewelry purchases are FINAL.
